Family financial information is confidential information; therefore, the Watertown Foundation has chosen to require that scholarship applicants provide information on financial need through the analysis of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Your application for a Watertown Foundation Scholarship based on financial need must include your official Student Aid Index (SAI) within your FAFSA Submission Summary that you will receive after your FAFSA form is processed. The Scholarship Committee uses this information to determine financial need.
Students with extraordinary financial circumstances, such as a parent’s recent unemployment, should be explained on the application form in the “Any Additional Information You Feel Is Important” field.
The Committee uses your uploaded essay as an evaluation tool that helps the members become acquainted with you as an individual in ways different from your academic credentials, involvement, and other objective information. Type an essay of approximately two pages double-spaced (11 pt. font) on one of these topics:
